Julie Gearan: Bio - Resume

 


Originally from NY, Julie Gearan is a fairly recent transplant to Providence, RI having moved from Chicago, where she lived for ten years. Gearan received her BFA from Tyler School of Art, and her MFA from Indiana University. She studied, taught and painted in both Rome and Florence, Italy. She currently teaches for the Rhode Island School of Design and Roger Williams University.

Gearan’s paintings deal with metaphoric narratives of modern life, drawing inspiration from small moments and collective experiences, enjoying the constant overlapping of the past, present and future.
